AI history, rewritten from the same record. Pick one of three levels. It's revised every week as new records come in.

About this page

What this is

The AI history of this site's 1,321 records (1943–2026), retold as one story. The same story is written at three levels — for younger readers, for teens and for university students. The content is the same; only the depth changes. The main text runs in four units — the big picture, how the technology changed era by era, the big shifts of the last three years, and the basics you need — and the weekly editions below gather only the records added that week, in a short form.

How to use it

Students: read it once, start to finish, at your own level, and when something makes you curious, find that year's records on the timeline and check the source. Reading a passage at your level and then the same passage one level up shows you what gets added. Teachers: give groups the same passage at different levels and have them explain it to each other. Each weekly edition can be opened at any of the three levels too.

Where it comes from

Everything here was written by AI (Claude) from this site's records; 88% of the records come from primary sources. Every Monday morning, when new records go in, a new weekly edition is added and the three main texts are updated with it.
