Privacy policy

Next Token (next-token.net) has no accounts and does not ask for personal information such as your name. The only things kept on the server are questions left in the question box, messages sent with the contact form (with an e-mail address only if you want a reply), and the random nicknames and scores of the weekly quiz's class mode, handled as described below.

Ads and cookies

This site shows Google AdSense ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Visitors under 18

This is an educational site that students aged 13–18 use too. There's no sign-up, and you never need to give your name, contact details or any other personal information to use the lessons, games or quizzes. Please don't write personal details in the question box or the contact form either. The ads are shown by Google; you can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings. Parents and guardians with questions can reach us through the contact page.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and some other regions may see a message from Google asking for consent to ad cookies.

Settings kept in your browser

Settings such as the theme (light or dark) and the view switch stay in your browser's storage and are never sent to this site's server. Clearing the site data in your browser removes them.

Your lesson progress (finished lessons, quiz scores and the start date of your own schedule) is also kept only in this browser and is never sent anywhere. To move it to another device, you copy a progress code and paste it there yourself.

Daily game results and streaks, weekly quiz scores, and a class's teacher key or a student's class pass are also kept only in this browser's storage.

Visit statistics

To count visits, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify or follow individual visitors — it only shows totals such as visits per page, where visits came from and browser types. About Cloudflare Web Analytics

Usage counts

To learn which pages are read and which features get used, we add 1 to that day's total (Korean time) when one of the things below happens. The server (Cloudflare) keeps only “date · name · how many times”. Nothing that could tell who you are is sent or stored — no IP address, no browser details, no cookie, no visitor number.

What is counted:

  • Opening a page — the page's address group: every record page counts as one “record” group, the dated “Today in AI history” pages as another, and so on (each five-minute lesson keeps its own DAY). Anything after the address, such as search words or a #, is not sent.
  • A visit — once per browser tab, on the first page opened in it. The mark that says “already counted” stays in that tab's storage (sessionStorage, cleared when the tab closes) and is never sent.
  • Where a visit came from — if it began with a link on another site, only that site's name, picked from a fixed list of about twenty (search sites, AI chatbots, social networks, blogs …). Any other site counts as “other”, no link as “direct”. That site's address and any search words are not sent.
  • Using a feature — the name of one of the things below. While one page is open, the same thing is counted only once.
    • Someone finished the “Which came first?” game
    • Someone finished the “Today's Next Token” game
    • A game result was saved or shared as a picture
    • A game result was copied or shared as text
    • Someone finished a weekly quiz
    • A teacher created a class
    • A student joined a class quiz
    • A sentence was checked with “Is it true?”
    • A question was sent to the question box
    • The AI history map's A3 poster PDF was downloaded
    • The AI history map's image (PNG) was downloaded
    • The “Today in AI history” widget was shown on another site
    • A teachers' A4 PDF was downloaded
    • Someone finished a five-minute lesson's quiz
    • Someone searched the site

For the developer API and the MCP server we don't store what was sent; we only add to the daily total for which feature (for example, record search or sentence check) or which MCP tool was used. Calls made by this site's own pages are not added to the API totals.

If your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turned on, this site's pages send nothing. Automated browsers aren't counted either.

Is it true? · API & MCP for developers

Sentences typed into “Is it true?” and requests sent to the API or MCP server are used only to make the answer and are never stored or logged. To stop floods of requests, a scrambled form of the connection address is held briefly in server memory and never saved. Which feature was used is counted only as a daily total, as described under “Usage counts” above.

Weekly quiz class mode

When a teacher creates a class, the server (Cloudflare) stores only the class's week, number of questions, creation time and a hash of the teacher key. When a student joins, the server picks a random nickname made of an adjective and an animal (for example “Brave Otter”) and stores that nickname, a hash of the student's class pass, their score (number right) and when they joined and finished. How many students got each question right is kept only as a total for the whole class. We never ask for names, emails or any text from students, and we don't store IP addresses. Every class is deleted automatically 30 days after it's made.

Question box

Questions left in the question box are used only to choose which ones to answer. The server keeps the question text (spacing tidied), its language, the time it arrived and a random ID — never your IP address, browser details, cookies or anything else that could identify you. Questions are never published as typed: the few we choose are reworded so nothing personal shows, and published with an answer written by AI. Questions are deleted automatically after 60 days, and answered ones sooner. Please don't write your name, contact details or school; anything that looks like an e-mail address, phone number or link is refused.

Contact form

Messages sent with the contact form are used only so the owner can read them, answer, or fix a record. The server (Cloudflare) keeps the topic, your message, its language, the time it arrived, a random ID and — only if you entered one because you want a reply — your e-mail address. It does not keep your IP address, browser details or cookies. Messages are never published or passed on. The owner deletes each one once it has been handled, and it is deleted automatically after 90 days at the latest. Please don't include other personal details such as your name, phone number or school.

Server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. For security and reliable operation, Cloudflare may briefly process technical records such as IP addresses and request times.
